Construction Multi Skills

STATEMENT OF INTENT: CONSTRUCTION

We offer our learners an insight into the Construction Industry, where they will learn about Health and Safety, the building environment, and gain insight into various practical trades. This will include Bricklaying, Carpentry, Electrical Installation, Painting and Decorating, Plumbing and Wall Tiling.

We offer a Multi-Skills trades course, where learners can choose their own learning pathways enabling them to develop skills, at a rate suitable to them and in an order which keeps them interested. Within this course, there are various attainment levels, depending upon the individual learners’ needs and abilities.

If a learner then decides that they have a particular flair, or interest in either Bricklaying, or Carpentry, then we offer both trades at either Level 1 and Level 2, depending upon the learner’s requirements or level of ability. These units involve working through a series of set assessments. The learner works independently and at their own pace but is fully assisted and encouraged to enable them to achieve the required outcomes.

The whole course encourages and improves on communication skills, maths, English, Mental Health and Wellbeing, together with teamwork, and building the learners confidence and skills to enable them to achieve full time employment.
