Simon Bounds

Simon has worked in education, training and local government since graduating in English from Newcastle University, working in schools and universities in France, Belgium and England. He taught A level Media and Film Studies for many years and worked as an examiner for WJEC before working for KCC in workforce development in the Youth Offending Service, including a secondment in the UK Government’s Home Office. Subsequently Simon worked for the Skills and Employability Service in project management developing provision for vulnerable learners, including managing the first grant from the DfE to promote supported internships. As part of this work Simon initiated and led the development of independent specialist providers across Kent to support vocational pathways for students who face multiple barriers to participation. Simon now teaches at a special school in East Kent where he is Careers Lead.
